Importance of organic products for hormonal health in women

I listened to one of my favorite health show THE MODEL HEALTH SHOW and interview with DR. Lisa Mosconi. The episode was about using neuroscience to optimise your nutrition and longevity. (Episode 596 if you want to listen)

Dr. Lisa Masconi spoke about importance of organic foods mainly for women and she explained why is it so important.

I am really passionate about organic food and since I have started consuming organic food (and wine :D) I see a huge difference in my body. For example my skin completely changed for the better, i feel more energetic and the food is so delicious.

Obviously i knew about the benefits of organic food to minimise exposure to pesticides and herbicides but I really enjoyed how Dr. Lisa Masconi explained the effect of Xenoestrogens on our bodies.

For women changes in hormonal levels are a natural problem that, so many people don’t ever get talk about.

Women go through series of endocrine transition stages as we mature through puberty but, then the most shocking one is menopause.

Menopause is the loss of estrogen and progesteron and other hormones that impact everything inside your body including your brain.

There are many substances in our food, environment and skin product that are xenoestrogens. Xenoestrogens are “foreign” estrogens, substances that are close enough in molecular structure to estrogen that they can bind to estrogen receptor sites with potentially hazardous outcomes.

And they are known to really mess up our oestrogen levels in our body. They act like oestrogen but they make everything worst. So if you have pre disposition to breast cancer, you’re at a higher risk of getting breast cancer

We are drowning in plastic and if you have food packed in plastics, heating up the plastics will only lead to all the substances that are known to mess up your oestrogen leaked to your foods. This can really creates the issues like man boobs, girls becoming women in young age

Thats why organic is so important. Organic food is estrogenic. Thats why eating organic food is super important for us women because choosing organic produce will significantly minimise your exposure to hormone-disrupting pesticides.
